Have any of you custom painted or airbrushed your motor cover/top shroud & tank covers? I am going to get an estimate to have a design or flames painted on them and then clear coated, but if to expensive (can get up to, or over $2,000. 00 for 5 pieces, quoted from one company) I will airbrush it myself, which I use to airbrush alot, years ago. I do not completely understand the process to paint plastic and also which is not completely smooth. Im concerned with it lasting with the heat as well. Ill have to get my temp gun out to check the temp after being ran. Ive been told by a company that specializes in doing this that its the same process as painting the exterior of your car. Anyone do it themselves, that can describe the process, and what there results were? Also, I have a question about my hood liner. I will eventually take it off to custom airbrush it as well. Will it cause any problems driving the vehicle while it is off?
