dash dis-assembly....

im trying to get the gauge panel off of the drivers side of my 73....i have the passenger side and the center cluster out....all the screws are removed , but it feels like its hanging up on something other than the speedo and tach cables.....do i need to drop the steering colume?anybody with an assist would be greatly appreaciated.

Yes, you need to drop the column to get enough swing room to yank the assembly out.
