New to the Forum, so thanks in advance for help. This weekend I removed the dash to put in new speakers and found out the reason my drivers side original speaker was not working is that the unit was never installed with the metal cage that holds it to the underside of the dashpad. The passenger side was correct, but nothing on the driver side. It was just hanging and bouncing free. I now have the dash dropped and can not locate a source for this online. I have contacted a few used parts dealers and no luck. I assume this is the same part for most c3's, any help appreciated.

The speaker cages are usually an integral part of the speaker as it holds the magnet. On our 75, I screwed the speaker to the underside of the dash. If you have a picture of what you're looking for we can probalby help a little more.

He is a pic I found on ebay (already sold), but I'm not finding any others yet. But it is not a part of the speaker itself. I'm probably using the wrong term as I saw a pic in a magazine and it was called a cage. It actually is a bracket that catches the lip of the speaker itself and the 3 tabs are screwed into the bottom of the dash, it has 4 posts with thumb screws that allow it to atach to the holes in the speaker frame. It's too cold up here in WI for swap meets yet so I'm hoping to find it somewhere.

I had sent an email request already to this site but had not heard back. I'll drop your name, thanks!

Ah yes. Those pieces. Try Gulf Coast Corvette. He has a ton of parts and might have those.
