Dashboard Cover Advice...

Hi All,

I live in the "Sunshine" State and, as such, want to protect my recently acquired '96 dashboard from our intense UV.

I've seen several different makes and models of Dashboard Covers and decided it best to ask you C4 Mavins for some advice. I've seen dash covers that are carpet, suede, molded, overlay, etc.

I'd appreciate the benefit of your experience before making my decision.

I found that some dash covers do more harm than good. Some don't have a high SPF, but do trap the sun's heat, and actually bake the dash. I had an "outside Vette" in AZ once, and the dash cracked in 2 years, with a pad. The good news is that the new dashes are much more resistant to UV. Some of the spray Protectants have high UV blocking ratings.
