I just took my 99 coupe out of storage. I haven't driven it in 6 months. When I went to start it the battery was dead. (Not surprised by that). My problem now is the remote entry and the CD player isn't working. Is there a reset button for this or is it a fuse problem?

Second... Is inside front tire wear normal. It seemed a bit excessive for both front tire?

Thanks,

Blacknred,

The C5 will drain a battery after about 3 weeks of unuse. You do need to either start it every three weeks or put a battery tender on it. Your battery probably is dead. Betcha it's a delco. Get an Ultima yellow top for a replacement.

Now as for your key fob, it probably does still work and just needs to be reprogrammed. Check you owners manual for instructions on how to do this. Your radio has an anti theft device on it and is triggered by loss of juice (or your battery dying). Again, check your owners manual. You need to extract the code from your radio, call GM and get the code to reset the radio.

Thanks Mike,

I'll refer to the manual.

By the way, it is a Delco.

Delco's are famous for leaking on your wiring harness and computers. Actually, you may be rather lucky if it hasn't. Get a gel battery or AGM battery for your toy car. You will not be disappointed.

When I replaced my battery, I got one of those 9 volt clips that you insert into your cigarette lighter plug. This kept the programming for both my radio, preferences and key fob.
