This morning I noticed a 2" piece of metal sticking out of my C-5 rear tire.
I have a tire warranty which covers this type of thing. I took the car to the dealership to have it replaced. After about two hours the dealer called back to say that there was a back log on tires and may take up to 10 days to get a replacement.
I called Belle Tire and they had 42 tires in stock. Called the dealer back and passed on this information. Dealer service rep said he would have to check with the Parts Department to see what could be done.
About 2:30 they called back and said the did not have the manpower to pick up a tire and if I wanted I could pick up the car and take it to the tire dealer then work it out with the claims company. Since I promised the car to someone for the Woodward Cruise I picked up the car and am now in the process of getting the tire replaced.
It would have been nice if the dealer had given me a little more time.
As a side note the car is a lease and due to be turned in in about a week. Sounds like a run around to me.
Glad I didn't buy my C-6 from this dealer.
