I have a chance to purchase a rallye wheel that has a DC code on it, but has a date stamp of K 1 8. Buyer suspects it might be a rallye used on a 68 vette, but maybe a 67. It has a tire on it, so can't measure the width. Did 68 rallyes have a DC code? or is the K 1 8 a sign of a GM replacement wheel?\
Thanks for the help, guys.

I'm not all that knowledgeable on rallye's, but "DC" indicates a 15" x 6" wide rim used on 67 Corvette and some later disk brake passenger cars up to about 69 (ie, station wagons, etc). I think the "K 1" is a maufacturer's mark (Kelsey Hayes) rather than a date code, the 8 indicates 1968, and I think there should be another date code stamp near the valve stem hole. At any rate, the wheels you are looking at are likely from a passenger car.

"DC" is the correct '67-only 15x6 rally wheel, and the K-1-8 indicates that it's a 1968-manufactured service replacement wheel.

Thank you WayneC and JohnZ...hmmm, kinda sounds like a folk-rock duo;)
from helping in my decision.

Dennis,

67 - 6"
68 - 7"
69 up - 8"
