I have a 2004 vert with 4,000 miles. On two seperate occasions when I start the car and attempt to change settings the dic all dash lights go out (even radio) but everything works???? i hate to surrender this car to the dealer (no service inhouse yet). is this common and is there an easy fix? please, any ideas?

This does not sound like a common problem to me.
Hopefully someone will come along who's experienced this before.
I expect C4C5Specialist will have some ideas.

By the way, welcome to the CAC.

Try adjusting (turn up) the dimmer control for the dash lights. I had a similar problem when I set the auto headlights to on.

BAM, BAM and triple BAM !!!! that's exactly when this happened!! The car is at home but tonight i will check it out...i'm sure that this is the problem. many thanks. i will post my findings.

Could that be the same issue with my climate control?
For some reason my climate control readout is very dim and I cannot read it even at night

Re: Dash Lights.... Thank You "bluecoupe". You Were Correct On The Dimmer. You Would Think That The General Would Address This In The O/m For Someone Like Me That Wouldn't Even Think That The Dimmer Is The Problem. Best Regards - This Forum Is Great!

Jimmie,
The real credit goes to Paul C4C5specialist and CAC. He told me about it after I ran into the problem. This forum is a great resource. It is well worth the $10 donation to keep it going.
