Hey guys,

I am replacing the bushings to for mounting the rear end, but the new poly bushings don't look like they are going to fit with the those sleeves in. I did a quick search and came up with this thread, http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1587&highlight=diff+bushings which leads me to believe that I should just leave those sleeves out when installing the new poly bushings, is this correct? If I need to get new sleeves where can I find some, I didn't see any at the major vendors(ecklers, mid america, etc.).

Thanks for the help,

-Chris

If you're talking about the bushings where the diff nose bracket attaches to the frame crossmember, the sleeves are required to keep the bolt centered in the upper and lower bushings so it doesn't eat through the bushings and contact the bracket or the frame metal-to-metal. The OEM replacement rubber bushings have the sleeve already molded in.

Here is a picture of what I am talking about,

The bushing that is marked had a sleeve on the outside of it when we removed the old bushing. Do I need another one of these sleeves, for the new poly bushings, or not? also if I need one where can I get one? I see that the sleeve comes with the new rubber bushings and not the poly bushings.

Thanks,

-Chris

Chris,

The poly bushings don't use the metal sleeve. You have to remove it from the batwing to install the bushings.
