Hi guys, Im new to this forum, and had a couple of questions: I own a 97 c5 all stock, I'm thinking of selling it and buying a zo6. I tested a 2003 at my local dealer - wow - I loved it, but the payments will be real high. So I was wondering if there is a lot of diffence in acceleration etc' between the 2001 and the 2002 405's. I could save quite a lot by getting a 2001...

Hi there,
This will really depend on your driving style, because alot of the updates on the 02 model year, were for driving more aggressively.
So, just remember that they did NOT just upgradge the horsepower. Also upgraded was the rear spring rates, shocks were retuned. Upgraded pistons, and rings for more reliable driving, and less oil consumption. Also, the front brake pads on the 02s are more effective when hot, but give more brake dust on the rims. The 01 does give less dust, and slightly less braking power when hot.
So with that, yes, you can get 01s cheaper, because they may have some slight issues. However, if you are NOT overly aggressive of a driver, you may never see it.
Allthebest, c4c5:hb
