Hi

While checking out the NCM for a build sheet, it was noted that l could also get a copy of the window sticker.

l thought they were the same!

I hope I'm telling you right, if not others will quickly correct me I'm sure.
The build sheet is the sheet that is used as the car goes down the assembly line, it gives detailed build data codes used by the assembly worker(s) for every component, assembly or system that is placed in the car during the assembly process.

The window sticker on the other hand lists the Engine, Transmission, Color / Trim information, Standard Equipment for the Base Model and Trim Level and major selected options or packages that were installed in the car at the time of manufacture, along with any dealer installed options or accessories, and the associated MSRP for the base vehicle and each option or option package that was installed.
The window sticker will not get into the detailed listing of parts codes used to make up a major option component or package. Example RPO Z06: The LS6 engine code, FE4 suspension code, shock codes, etc. will generally not be on the window sticker, but will be on the build sheet because the assembly line workers use those codes to select the correct part(s) for each car as it is assembled.
Did I make sense of all that to you?

Sounds good to me!

Thanks VettePilot

The way l feel if it sounds good, l'll buy it.

Right now your answer makes allot of sense, but should l buy the build sheet or the window sticker?

My 96 is used.

Thanks

I'd buy both...as we've done with both of our Corvettes. The build sheet and window stickers have been framed and grace the walls of our garage now!

When you follows Elaine's suggestion, make sure you pay the extra to get them laminated. The NCM does a great job!

Also, unless things have changed, you CAN'T buy the window sticker without also buying the build sheet...

Thanks, Steve, for mentioning that...we had them laminated, also. They look wonderful!

You can buy a build sheet w/out a window sticker but you cant buy a window sticker w/out a build sheet. I bought a build sheet, window sticker and brochure. It was like $80. Buy them all, it's only money. Guy

Hi

Vetteguy the only difference from your vette and my vette is the number 4, after LT.

lt's really not the money but the proper understanding of what l'm doing.

Would you believe that l bought the Vette last week without seeing it, and because of the weather and some other things l will not have it in my garage until this fri.

My past corvette's 1964 vette stationwagon custom
1967 SCCA b prod coupe (totaled)
1968 coupe
1976 coupe

Kingman, congrats on your purchase. These torch reds are beauties. I'm sure you'll love it. Lets see some pics when you get it. I may actually get to drive mine one of these days when the 5 ft of snow melts!! I'm sure you know what Im talking about. Guy

I bought the NCM window sticker and build sheet, they came as package deal. Nice to have, laminate & leave in car for show or compare with buds. The longer response you got is correct regarding what info each sheet contains. RJS:beer
