Digital Tire Gauges?

I was comparing a digital tire gauge with a couple of more traditional ones I have, and noticed that the digital one read consistently about 2 pounds higher. Has anyone else compared digital vs. traditional gauges? It would seem that the traditional gauges (especially the type where the plastic scale pops out) would generate more friction as they operate and so would read lower and be less accurate because of that, but......

Thanks,

Chris...who knows about accuracy... its all made in China

I figure, if the reading is the same on all tires at least I have consistency. I think that is important. The PSI is too, but you get in the ballpark

I use a Milton dial type. The popout type never read quite the same as it does.;shrug Think I paid about $12 for it.

Something else to consider

Try a truckstop for some rugged accurate conventional tire gauges... those guys depend on tire pressure to make their living. I use them in my shop and keep one in my dually.

Thanks for the replies---this was all prompted by the fact that I got some new BFGoodrich G-Force KDWs for the rat last week, and wanted to really hone in on the tire pressures.

I like the digital. Using the pop up pencil type it seems you get a different reading depending on the angle of the dangle. I just got my digital and love it.
www.slime.com has all types.
