Dim LED Temp Display

1999 convert:

At night it works fine but in daylight, the LED is very weak and the temperature is unreadable to say nothing of the various climate control readouts. Adjusting the dimmer switch doesn't help.

Is this common? Fixable without tearing the whole console apart?

HI there,
If you are only talking about the HVAC display and nothing else is dim, you will most likely have to replace the control head.
I have heard of people taking them apart and repairing the lighting by replacing the bulbs.
