Is your dip stick tube one or two pieces? My parts guy at the dealership here says its two. I can only remember it being one.....

There are three pieces actually: one is the dipstick itself of course; then you have the tube which inserts into the block; plus there is shorter, straight, piece of tubing that goes into the block but extends into the pan to keep the dipstick from contacting the crankshaft.

that makes sense...the shorter tube has a flared end on it and a straight cut off end...thats the one that goes into the block right? with the flare side out right?

any o-rings or anything? Or does the flared end when in contact with the curved upper tube seal together?

No O-rings or anything: just a press-fit for the tube, while the inner pieces simply drops in, flared (or wider) side out. The inner tube is installed first of course. ;)

Thanks Ken, I re'did" mine and forgot the smaller tube down below.....the tube leaked like crazy and was blowing oil out of the base. Prolly cause without the lower tube I could not get the upper tube to properly seat in there to seal....
