I have a 84 Corvette with the crossfire. MY L83 runs great, it just looks like a gressy pork chop. Not to mention (those ugly rusty headers)

I had a powersteering leak (so i decided to replace acouple of gaskets on the motor. While I was at it, I decided to paint the engine, engine bay and some other stuff. Like I said, the car runs great, the motor and engine bay just has lots of grime;)

heres what it looks like so far...........

I plan on replacing the headers and valve covers and anything with over spray

(PAINT IT UP AND REPLACE THE WIRE (hider things)

day 1

I MIGHT THROW UP IF I SEE Another ORANGE ENGINE.

nothing worse than seeing somebody pop their hood and all you see a orange engine. (if you can see past the smog stuff) lol

orange engine (to me) is kinda like looking at rusty headers--or headers with heat paint (you can only look at it for so long)

I wouldnt dare paint my engine orange. Thats a "trailor park" thing.

I would rather paint it FORD "junk blue"

BESIDES why would i paint my engine the same color as cheese

if my engine looked like yours i wouldnt be showing anybody

It's a vast improvement from pork chop city :thumb .

What are you doing with the headers?

Thanks

im not done- thats just day 2 or 3

ive bought new wire looms and vaccume lines--(so there is no overspay_

as for the headers................

Im going to buy some cheap chrome ones or by some shorty headers with the raw finish.....

i threw my old ones away (so I wouldnt have to use them)

speedway motors has the raw ones for 60 bucks with gaskets and bolts. (and yes they do fit the c4) --u might got to get your exhaust customized alittle

I threw away the smog and the a/c----so you can see my whole engine

I also moved my stock 84' "remote p/s reservoir near the radiator

plus- i almost forgot about my custom CHROME "crossfire" fuel lines

you havent seen the best part yet

***** I just did my whole engine bay**********

scubbed and painted-----no dirt --- almost perfect--flawless

wait until you see the next pics

the engine bay looks as if it has 0 miles

i know the the pics right now dont seem like much--- i just wanted to show the before and afters

wait until I post the finished product...................on day 20 or 30 or so..............................

trust me........this engine will come out looking good

I had to show the ugly pics first or no one would beleive it was the same engine
