Talking today about the upcoming judging at Bloomington Gold for 2008 with the Division Director for C4s, we discussed a couple of Callaways we thought might be heading to the show - one would be eligable for Certification, Survivor, and Benchmark.

Hopefully some, if not all these Callaways will be on the field this year :cool

Looking forward to the show!! Anyone going????? :w

Chris,
While not bringing a C4, I will be there. I look forward to seeing you.
:)

CHRIS I AM HOPING TO ATTEND BUT I AM GOING TO WAIT TO NEXT YEAR TO BRING MY CAR . I WAS TOLD NEXT YEAR IT WOULD BE ELIGABLE FOR BENCHMARK AND SURVIVOR AS IT WILL BE 20YRS OLD
MARK 89#35

Mark, there is another Callaway signed up for judging. Also, I contacted the owner of one of the 1988 thirty-fifth anniv. Callaways and hopefully they will bring the car for the Certification, Benchmark, and Survivor awards. I know the car has ~00320 miles, so it *should* do well :cool

As long as you brought up Bloomington Gold...

...any news on the judging of Aerobody cars or Speedsters? :upthumbs

Under the current guidelines, no.

In the (near) future, "specials" are being looked at for judging. This would be cars like the Corvette Challenge cars with race motors (non original, right...) installed. They would only be good for a Silver, but they are correct to an extent, true ;shrug they have a race motor vs. the assy. line motor ;help

Speedsters and AeroBody Callaways in general would likely fit into this class, which otherwise they too, would only be good for a Silver ;squint:

I am working hard to lobby, believe me :w

Bloomington Gold releases new website for their new show that is bundled into the Bloomington Gold Event :w

America’s First
SURVIVOR®
Collector Car Show

Sunday, June 29, 2008
Pheasant Run Resort
St. Charles, Illinois
SURVIVOR® cars have been Certified by Bloomington Gold to be nicely preserved and mostly unrestored, un-refinished, and unaltered.

Unlike typical car shows or Concours d’Elegance events, SURVIVOR is designed to feature and recognize only those cars fortunate enough to escape the wear and tear, restoration, and modifications typical of most collector cars over 20 years old.

They’re like a favorite pair of jeans and leather jacket. They may have some earmarks of age and wear; or even some scuffs here and there. But you can go anywhere in them and they still look good and feel comfortable. And there is no doubt, “they’re real”. Hence, our tag line; “Worn in…but not worn out.”

Many advantages exist with SURVIVOR®; here are a few:
• Serves as a “Field of History” for people to see the real things.
• Provides restorers a “research library” for more accurate restorations.
• Provides an incentive to think twice before “improving” preserved cars.
• Creates a credible brand standard to reduce misrepresentations.

That's awesome :cool
I know that Paul (Kruzmisl) was considering taking his for Certification and I have invited Mike Yager and his 1988 Anniv. Callaway for this :cool

As you read above, Mark (LIFTMAN) is waiting until 2009 to have his Certified...

To my knowledge, 20 C4s can be judged (10 cars for each team of Judges), with the rest on a cancellation notification schedule - they might get judged if someone bails ;shrug

ET-Viper, wow, another low mile blk 89 40 miles from ya! Cool! We know it's older than #17 if it's blk/blk!;)
Chris,
Man, I've been all over the board on this one. Yes, I have always wanted to certify. Thought about 15 years old and then got the opportunity to be in the Special Collection! Then thought about this year, and realized I guess I could do Next Year as 20th B-day for certify AND I guess Survivor at the same weekend!:chuckle
I was planning on taking it to the national NCRS Convention to Flight, and now I see and remember you have to do a regional first!:eyerole
So, not sure if I'm up to the mad rush this year but I'm priming the pump.

Prime baby, PRIME!!! :beer

In May, I have a class where I believe I have to demonstrate how to judge a C4, blindfolded :WDon't know if that part is true, but I will be ready!!! :ohnoes

Paul, I hope to see you on the field this year, gathering info :w
