Dog gate for the hatchback?

Hi all,
I recently got a dog and would still like to be able to travel in my 'vette. Has anyone put a gate between the hatchback and the seats for this kind of thing?

Maybe another cargo net would work.

I put a mid size pet carrier in the back, it stays in place held down by the privacy skirt, with the front door about one-foot behind our seats. We can just reach behind us and open the door if we want to let the little critter out.
