During the summer months I almost always wash my '71 with it's headlights lowered which means they stay dirty. Then when I do drive at night I find they are so filthy I can hardly see where I'm going. Even though I KNOW I should always wash my '71 with it's headlights raised I forget. So this is a reminder to all of you (and me) to wash your C3 with it's headlights raised so they get cleaned too! The first fall rains will be starting soon and with those rains the headlights will get REALLY filthy as the road oils will coat them and greatly diminish their light output. The Chevrolet engineers provided us with the vacuum switch needed to hold the headlights open so get in the habit of using it EVERY time you wash your C3.
