ok I have another ? what have you guys used for insulation behind the door panels I've seen some stuff on e-bay but I've got to much in transit now. Hate the waiting game
the plastic just keeps out draft, it covers all the access holes in the door panel so you won't get a draft from the door handles etc.
i wouldn't remove the panels to install it, but if i had them apart,i'd invest the 5 bucks.mike
heat and sound I've also heard about moisture having effects on panels being way down south that could be a problem for me, If I did what should I use? Source?
I'm currently putting a generic version of Dynamat on my doors under the plastic. It's supposed to cut down on raod noise. I got it from Parts Express (www.partsexpress.com). They're stereo equipment wholesalers and sell a knockoff of Dynamat for much less than the brand name. I've ordered stuff from them for over 10 years and have always been satisfied.
I had bought some sound dampening material from J.C.Whitney. The stuff is flat and made of a tar-like substance. One side is adhesive, so it will stick firmly to panels.
I applied this to the entire interior of my vette. I even used it on the door panels! The doors sound much better now when they close. (solid sounding) Of course, the new anti-rattle window cushions helped too.
