Still trying to remove frozen striker. Tried penetrating lube with pneumatic impact driver, and impact driver with dead blow hammer. No luck. Any advice? Are there any photos of what the back side looks like so I can have a clue what's going on behind the fiberglass.

Or any advice on what to take apart so I can see for myself. Started going in through rear compartment but not working well.

I am getting frustrated enough that Bubba wants out. He wants to use a bigger hammer and I know he wont hear the fiberglass cracking.

Looked thru the manual & all I could find is the striker assembly is a single metal bolt & washer that is threaded into a tapped, floating cage. This is for a 95, but being you received no other responses I thought I would throw it out.

There is a vent on the lower pillar that is removable, maybe you can get a peek up there with a small mirror & see what's going on?

I see the vent panel. I'll give it a shot. Thanks Rabbit!!!

If the striker is still in place, and you have access to a new one, you might use a pipe wrench (which will destroy the surface of the striker) adding a length of pipe to the handle for added leverage. Something is going to move. Let's hope it is the striker, and not the pillar.

If you can get your hand into the panel and up to the plate try getting penetrating oil on it. You might try adding some type of small hose to direct it.
Another thing you might try is dry ice on the striker. It just might help brake the rust much like heat.
