on my 75 vette my passenger door won't open. had it locked and someone went to open it. when i tried to unlock from inside it wouldn't and key wouldn't unlock it either. tried getting the lever to flip going thru the window slot and still no good. anyone know of a way to open the door ? thanks in advance;help

Don't know if this will help you , but on my 74 i had the same trouble with the drivers door. had to play with both the the key lock on the outside and trying too unlock from the inside. Finally after about a hour , it unlocked. From there , had to take the door lock mechanizim out and give it a good cleaning. There was years of dirt and grim built up around all the door lock rods. You would have to take the door panel off and take the (i think it was ) 3 screws out on the door jam . Take a couple of the rods off and then clean all parts. Mine works like a champ now. You will see that there is one short rod that controls the lock device. Make sure it is working properly befor reinstalling. As far as getting the door open now , you might have to do like i did and just keep working the locks until it opens. Maaybe some else has a better way to get it open . i tried with a screw driver to pop it open , to know prevail. Take pix of the mechanzem if you have a digital camera, makes it easier on reinstalling . Hope this might help. Dave :beer

thanks for the help. don't know if is the locking mechanism keeping it from opening or the latch itself is jammed. key on outside does nothing and inner lock had vise grips on it and can't turn. going thru the window on top i can move the door handle but not enough to open door.

Yup sounds like the same problem i had. Kept working the key and messing with the inside lock .Thats what i thought also was the door jammed. After cleaning it works great now. Hopfully yours is a more simple solution. Just out of nowhere the door popped open. Gave it a pretty good pull. I have manual locks no power door locks on inside. Dave :w
