my 81 passenger door has to shut very hard to get it to close. I was thinking that the hinge needed a new bolt or something, but the door doesn't seem to hang low or anything. could it be in the striker?

Has it done this since youve owened it? Have you replaced the door and window weatherstrip? I had the same deal with mine after replacing the weatherstrip. Afew adjustments were needed to the door glass and all was good.I would just make sure the door is lined up and then look at the striker and lube it with some paste grease.

No weatherstripping yet, still original, so definitely a problem with either hinge or striker. I was going to take it to the guy who recently painted it today, but it has been raining and I don't drive in the rain. Heck I don't even put the tops in during the summer.

how the heck do you adjust a door?

my drivers door is sagging which makes it a pita to close

your door probably needs new bushings...... open the door and see if it will move up and down when you pick up on the outer edge...if it has play or movement , the bushings are shot.....
