I was looking through the Van Steel catalog and ran across the off-set Trailing Arms. They have the stock T/A, Off-Set T/A's and Double Off-Set T/A's. This is the first I have heard of the Double Off-Set T/A's. The only thing else it says is that the "Rear spring must be shortened 1" on both sides." The price difference is only $10.

Has anybody used the Double Off-Set T/A's?

Is there any advantage to the Double over Standard Off-Set?

Thanks!

Bill

Interesting
Woulden't a shorter spring mean a harder ride?
Then woulden't your tires rub some were else. frame ?

'ello, I have offset trailing arms that are advertised to give and extra 2"s on each side for deeper back spacing. I'm using 5.5" back spacing with the 10x20 wheels at the back. I can't imagine what good would even more offset on the trailing arms do!? With the BS I'm using the closest spot is the frame, not the trailing arm or the leaf spring...

Hi Jay!

That's what I thought.

I found this in the Van Steel catalog, and they did not explain how it was "Double Off-Set" I think I may email them to try to find out.

How is your Vette running?

Bill

I've been in talks with Dan Van Steel, we had some problems with the carbon fibre 1/2 shafts and we are now trying to work it out... I'd say email them and let us know what they say about the double offset TA's, I can't see how one could benefit from those with out starting to modify the frame etc...

The cars coming along just fine, I'm just doing the finishing touches and will save it for next summer. Why? Because I just bought a new Vette!!! Not new exactly, it's a 75, so I did get to drive my own Vette this summer after all!:D

Here's a link about it:

My 75

Looks like this will never end :)

I have the offset TAs the next limit would be the frame and the spring. It'll be interesting to see what double offset means.
