I have an '80 and took my spare tire off and the rack holding it up. Saved 50 lbs! Is there any kind of a doughnut tire that is made that would fit my car?

i cant help you on the doughnut tire.i took mine out and just bought a can of fix a flat.also with hagerty ins i have towing.you do take out alot of weight but i have been told that the spare will help in a rear end collision.

I use a 16 inch mini spare from a 1997 Chevy (small) Blazer. It is about 26 inches tall, clears the brake rotors and fits in the spare tub on my 1966 coupe. I will only mount it on the front because of the posi rear.

I read where the spare tire is intregrated in with the rear end and is part of the rear impact set-up. I keep mine in because you never know when some one won't be paying attention and rear end you. Good luck.
