First Merry Christmas everyone! I have not been around for a while but am back now and have a question. Is there any seceret to replaceing the weatherstrip on the rear of the drivers window, does that striip that is rivited on have to be removed? I just can't seem to get it to stay in place? Thanks for any advice and everyone have a Happy New Years

The weatherstrip is riveted at the bottom of the piece to the body. You don't have to remove the metal piece to replace it. Some of the ones I've replaced also have a little adhesive on the back side and some black sealer at the very top where the trim meets the strip. The rivet is hid very well and the hole in the weatherstrip may be covered. You have to look or pick for it. You may also have to remove the quarter trim to install it. Fred

Thanks Fred, my plan was to change it tomorrow so I will let you know. I take it that you have to replace the rivet at the bottom and put the new one through the hole in the weather strip, correct?

Yes, that's the correct way to do it. You will probably have to remove the quarter trim to drill out the one that's in place now. Good Luck. Fred

Fread, not to labor the point but I check the other side and it is simply glued on the rivet was hot drilled out and put the weather strip, can you see any problems with that approach?
