I was driving to Bloomington Gold last weekend when I parked the car and put both windows up. It was a hot day and when I returned and started the car, only the passenger window went down. I know the driver power window switch is good because when I move it to the up or down position, I can see the voltmeter drop. I can also hear a slight hum from the door. Any ideas on what to check to avoid bringing it to the dealer??

Thanks.

Gotta be either the switch, the motor or the linkage is bound up. Did you try "helping" the window go down? If you're convinced the switch is good, you'll have to pull the door panel off to get to root cause.

To me it sounds like the gears are stripped. Take the door panel off and see if you can see the motor turning. I havent done it, but there is a rebuild kit for that. Good luck!
