If you see a 78 Indy pace car on 75 or 71 headed north today, be sure and wave.....I am driving my newest addition home......I will be sure to wave back!!!!!

will you be painting it red or just getting a red car cover?:D
it needs a lot of things......tires....brakes...interior....and as you know most of my money is targeted for the '60.....I know this was a detour....but I have been watching for one of these for a long time....so....it will have to wait until the '60 is done.......it came with a car cover....off white....but when I get done with the '60, I will ook for a RED one....then maybe the other cars will somewhat accept it......they all sneared at it when I drove it in the garage and they asked me when did I lower my standards for a non red corvette......sigh...they were not happy with me......

Herb, you big ole copy cat.........

i started working on my '65 so you had to outdo me and do a body-off on your '60.
Than I bought this '78 and you had to go out and buy a '78 Pace car.

what if I were to jump off a bridge..............??

;LOL :D

I would watch your swan dive and then figure out I couldn't do better and let you win that one.....ha-ha....

I figure that when you get done with your 78 that you will be an expert and come over and teach me what to do with mine....I think except for getting the title transferred and possibly taken to a local show for the most part it is going to sit this year....too many other things to work on.....so get your experience NOW....then you can tell me what to do and not......oh, and by the way, not just any Pace Car...but a 4 speed Pace Car.....ha-ha

L82 4-speed? good for you - those are limited and pretty rare. good find.

one thing you DON'T want to look forward to is removing and reinstalling the radiator! Talk about a MAJOR PITA.
Actually, compared to our C2's EVERYTHING under the hood is a major PITA because of all the smog and emission crap, all the vacuum hoses, and the tighter space in the engine bay trying to fit all that crap in it. It's nuts!
i'll never complain about working under the hood of the '65 ever again.
Ok, I may still complain but than i'll remember working on this car and retract my complaints. ;LOL
