I have been told that the in dash DVD Nav system can be easily be changed/configured to read and play both standard DVD video and DVD audio (music). Has anyone done this or know if this is true? I really want to do this to make the Nav system usable for me as I am not finding the option very functional.

I would have prefered the standard 6 disc changer but there were no cars that didn't have the nav system and I didn't want to order a car and wait. But, if the DVD nav can play video and audio than this option becomes way cool! Let me know.

Thanks!

Sorry but its not possible. Initially there was a lot of talk on corvette forum about it because you can do this on the cadillac cts system but it is impossible on the c6. Someone even talked to one of the engineers from the nav company and he said he didnt know of any way to do it. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
I love my nav though, i find it very useful in unknown areas, especially when trying to find something specific i.e. restaurants stores etc.

Thanks for the quick response. That is too bad. Would have made the nav system usable for me.

Do you know about hooking a iPod hookup or disc changer to the system?

Not sure about the ipod but i wouldnt count on it without the little radio transmitter thing that apple sells for it. Ive heard that they finally are coming out with a cd changer for the c6 but it will not be mp3 compatible since the nav isnt configured for it, that is why i wont get it.

Should have waited or ordered the car. This is the only thing I don't like. I have an iPod transmitter but it sucks...and it is a good one. For some reason, all of the dealerships by me ordered the convertibles with the Nav system. If you want without it, you need to order the car and who knows when it will come.

I'm tempted to get an aftermarket radio as a replacement since I hate the Nav system so much.

All I want is to play MP3's, nothing more.
