Dying door panels

Looking to replace torn door panels, has anyone had success changing the color of their panels with dye. (changing a tan to black)? Also are the lower panels and speaker covers easy to remove/swap out? Thanks, Tom

I've seen picture where someone has recovered the lower section to change colors! I'm watching this thread because I'd like to change mine.
