Ok I have my little red corvette in which i luv (81) but it has a DynaDrive in it and i HATE that whiney sound how hard is it to swap back to stock and how expensive? Is it something a semi mechanical person can do? Thanks for all your help

Mike
:upthumbs

its a gear drivin timing set up instead of chain driven supposed to stay in time and give more hp , I never heard of it until i bought it and got Paperwork on it .

Mike
;LOL

AHA! I see!

Well, I'm not semi mechanical.. but depending which parts of you are mechanical and which are not, installing a timing chain and gears is pretty straight forward and relatively inexpensive and easy. (well, my relatives are cheap and easy anyways) :rotfl

It'll cost you a few hundred bucks for new parts. Removal and reinstall will need a puller for the crank damper. Count on lots of accessory removals just to get at the gears.

Welcome again Yakamanic, to the forum and the corvette world. You'll get more than semi-mechanical the first time you drop big bucks at a shop and your vette still has the problem. You have a few choices, if your very handy, as Pbcanney said it's a straight foward job, but there are a few things that we did not mention. Vettehead remembered the puller, but you still have to pull the oil pan-;LOL
If the noise bothers you that much, change it, you'll get all the best help here! How about a louder radio?
Louder exhaust?:WPG

I'm sure we both will find out pretty soon..
If you join the NCRS they send you the DRIVE LINE, its a listing of used parts from the members. I think its printed quarterly. It also lists cars for sale and preferred venders. I really like it.
Good luck, Jim
