Been shopping for headers and summit has dynomax ceramic coated headers for c3's fore 229.95. The hooker ceramic coated super comp are connsiderably higher at 329 for headers plus 180 extra for the coating.

Is there that much of a quality difference between the two?

Are the dynomax headers junk?

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Hey Billyvette, I can't speak about the Hookers (the headers anyway) but I am very pleased with my Dynos. I have the 1 5/8" and installation was a breeze. The engine compartment though still hot is cooler than it was with the stock manifolds. The price was good and the coating after one season of driving is still in good shape. I pulled the engine out of the torque monster this winter and inspected them. No sign of peeling.
Hope this helps. peace. Bud

thanks for your response. did you need the alt. and a/c brackets for your car? the more i look at mine the more i think i do not need them.

thanks for your info.

I can't talk about the alternator bracket but you only need the a/c bracket if you have the old style long a/c compressor. If you don't have it, you just need to make a spacer for the bolt that goes throught the bracket and ram horn. I posted the trials and tribulations of my recent header install.

thanks bobchad, for the info. i found your thread after i originally posted. What is your alt. situation? modified?

thanks again

ok, bobchad so you did not need either bracket. that is what i thought but was not sure. according to the way my car looks i do not think i will need the brackets either, just wanted to check with another c3 guy close to my model year.

thanks for the advice whhich will save me some money.

just ordered the headers from summit and chambered exhaust from mid america, hope they really sound like sidepipes.
