Might not be the right place for this, but here it is. If you are using E-Bay, they have put spyware on your computer. I have just updated Spy-Bot and I guess it's picking this up now because it wasn't before.

Went to go into E-Bay to-night, Spy-Bot tells me that E-Bay is trying to put "Double Click", a piece of Spyware on my machine. I didn't allow it to.

By not allowing it on my machine, I can't make use of E-Bay. That's a shame because I used to enjoy looking through the Corvette stuff and making the odd purchase through E-Bay. Ahhhh well, their loss, I think!!

Anyone else run into this?? ... :mad ... Ron

Hi Bob, you may well be right. This is my old Spy-Bot with an update done yesterday. I don't know if it's just a tracking cookie or spyware. I just tried it again and the pop up message from Spy-Bot is:

Spy-Bot reports that you want to download "Double Click". This is a known threat. Do you want to block this download? YES / NO

I've been saying YES to the block. Maybe I should let it download then use Spy-Bot to get rid of it afterwards!! What a PITA!!!

Ron

For a long time I was blocking cookies. When spyware started getting hot, I just decided it wasn't Worth the hassle and moved on to the latest and greatest threat to our privacy.

I have my settings to prompt me about every single cookie that a site wants to drop on my machine.

When it asks about cookies from ad sites or dblclick, I block them and tell it to always block them in the future. Then I don't get asked again.

I too get those messages about Double Click, but on other sites, not Ebay.

Now my problem is I keep getting pop ups from a "680180.net" cookie or tracking thing on my computer. I can't figure out how to get rid of it!!:confused

Robert,
Thanks for the links. Already have 'em both and ran them twice with no luck. However, the third time was a charm. Go figure??! I ran both utilities and haven't had the 680180 thing happen since.
Let's hope I haven't jinxed it by posting this!!:L

I just downloaded the latest Spy-Bot and went to E-bay which I use almost everyday. A box pops up and says "Spy Bot has blocked "Double Click" I just click "OK" and it continues to load up with no problem. I cruise e-bay the same as I did before. The only drag is, every time I go to another page it pops up again, can get annoying but probably worth it.

Here is another excellent program to have by a trusted source: It's calle "Ad-Aware" it blocks all tracking cookies.
