Help! e-brake problem

If it won't retract in the usual fashion I suggest you pull the seat cushion
out, remove the cover over the mechanism & see what the problem is from there.

You can probably convince it to release. Maybe just needs some lubrication. Make sure you wear some type of safety glasses. I caught a spring on the the forehead once, too close.
 
I don't understand removing the seat cover as the brake lever mechanism is under the sill cover. The sill cover comes off by removing the rear pillar screws, the sill screws, and sliding the cover out of the front pillar retaining molding, just as you would if you were accessing the bose speaker. The speaker cover is attached to the sill cover. The lever mechanism can then be evaluated to determine if there problem is at the lever itself.

Remove the seat cushion & you will be able to access the p/b cover.

There's a wire bung on the front of the cushion, it retracts towards the seat back...then lift the cushion out as a unit.
 
Removing the seat cushion to access the p/b makes sense, but removing the seat cover did not. Either removing the sill cover or the sear cushion will provide access. Thanks for the clarification.
