ECM battery drain

I have a 1984 w/a 12v drain I have been chasing for a few months. Is it possible the ECM is faulty and draining the battery?

Have you ruled out the mercury switches under the hood and the center console cover? Correct me if I am wrong, but your '84 (like my '88) has two lights under the hood and a light under the center console cover. All three of those are operated by a mercury switch that tends to go bad. I've seen a report on this problem with a replacement part number to correct it. I just unplugged the hood lights on mine after they drained my battery one night.
