Edelbrock 1406 Carb

Has anyone ever installed one of these on a 59 with a 283? Do I need an adaptor to make it fit? I have a carter 4 barrel currently. Also curious as to what the hood clearance will be once it is installed (Seems like My Carter with the air cleaner on is a pretty tight fit).

If the Carter you have is the original style WCFB, you'll need a '62 or later intake manifold for the 1406, which is a clone of the AFB; nothing but a WCFB will fit on a WCFB manifold.
