my tach works sometimes, and is so bouncey other times it is unreadable. I have my driver's side dashpad out right now will replacing my speedo cable so I tore into my tach, the board looks ok, what else should I be looking for?

When mine went out, it stopped working. It had a burnt spot on one of the circuits, so it was easy to figure out. Have you checked all connections from the cap back to the tach? Mine has a piece that mounts on the intake, and it looks like a capicator, running inline from cap to tach. I know that if a wire is broke off going in or out of this, your tach doesn't show anything. Since you have the dash apart on that side, I would replace the circuit board on the tach. I know how much trouble that side is compared to the other side to take out.
