My fan does not come on until the tempurature reachs 230.Is this normal? My check engine light is also on.Any ideas why the light would be on? The car only has 6,750 miles on it.

Your engine light could be on for various reasons, you will have to check the code. As for the fan i thought it should come on a little earlier like say in the low 2's.

230° is the coolant temperature at which the emergency cooling fan will come on if the car is equipped with option B4P, the pusher fan in front of the radiator.

The fan motor switch point is 223° F. The pusher fan is set to come on sooner, at a little above 200° if I remember correctly. :CAC
