I have electric remote mirrors on my 81. The passenger side works fine but the driver side was missing when I bought it back in 1995. I replaced the motor with a spare I had kicking around from an 84 Fiero. It was a direct fit, however, the wiring is upside down (probably because it mounted 180 degrees from the Corvette or maybe its a passenger side).

IE: when I toggle left, it goes right. and up results in down. :crazycrazy

So is there any place to get a remote mirror motor? or does someone have the know how to rewire the thing so it acts like it's supposed to?

:w Paul,

What about "ringing out" the switch and see which wire combo is used for each direction, then go to the plug of the MOTOR and somewhere between the motor and the plug cross the wires to operate "normally" ;shrug

This way you leave your car plugin alone and if you do change out the miotor with a 1981 Corvette one, the plug to the harness and switch are still original and intack..
