About five seconds after I turned my radio on the 15 amp fuse for the radio circuit blew out in my 84 coupe. I took the radio out, but left the speakers in. The fuse blew out but it took several days. I replaced the fuse but did not drive the car for about a week. Interior lights and the security system were working. The fuse blew out after about a week of just having the car parked, didn't even touch it. I have looked at the electrical diagram but I am not that good at tracking down the short. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Could it be the security system? With the radio out of the car and not even opening a door for a week, it seems to me that the security system was the only thing on that circuit that was hot. I have not replaced the fuse at this point.
No, leaving the car parked for a week is not my way of trouble shooting :L. I just didn't need to drive it.
