It's me again...
On my '98, I can not find the emergency fuel/gas door lever that is supposed to be on the rear driver side of the trunk/cargo area. My owners manual states that it's "on the side". Both the dealer & I can not find this thing.

I wanted to know where it was just in case I needed to use it. Any ideas?

i have a little handle that says fuel door. Yours may be different as its in plain sight on mine.

Best of Luck,
-Andy

Maybe the cable(s) that I am thinking of released the hatch itself. I will look in my service manual tonight to see what it says as far as location and appearance.

My Dear Miss Moneypenny,
There foolish americans across the pond. I found mine in the trunk on the drivers side (and Q though I won't find it....ha). It is, however, a pull cable, sorry if you soil that fabulous party dress. Pity I won't be joining you for that affair. Just remember, if the Bolanger is not chilled, it's not ready for drinking.
Love you always,

Mine was a thin cable with a paper tag that said Fuel Door
same here.........and I didn't need Q to find it either:D

Ok, I will look again. Thanks for your help.
Ya'll are too funny!

looking in the rear hatch from behind the car it is located on the left hand side. Mine was located at the rear portion of the wheel well at the top. Kind of in the seam between the top of the wheel area and the side of the interior. You really have to get in there to see it. You may need a flash light to see it, especially if your interior carpet is black.

I agree with GKrenn. You might have to pull the carpeting down a little at the top as it may be tucked behind it. Mine has a black plastic (not paper) tag marked "Fuel door". HTH

I found it today!
It was not easy. I had to pull the carpeting & the plastic black molding trim AND I needed a flashlight. Geez! But I found it. It was just like you said, with the black plastic tag...

Thanks again everyone!

Glad you located it. Here's a little tip to maybe help prevent "the big search" :D
next time. Take a small piece of the "hook" material from some Velcro, stick it to the back side of the plastic tag and then stick the tag to the carpet. You may have to position the small cable to run through an area that will allow you to stick the tag near the top of the carpeting so it is out of sight and not rattling aginst anything. Then, when you need it, just pull the tag off the carpet and pull the cable to release the door. HTH

Robert :)
