Ok am I doing this wrong!
I painted my Plenum, Valve Covers, Intake Manifold, and Runners last year and they looked GREAT. I used a primer, Silver paint, then clear coat (1,2,2 coats)
They looked wonderful till like last month and now its starting to yellow and look crappy again. On one spot the paint didn't hold on the valve cover but that was to be expected considering the covers are just FRYED.
During my prep I Hot Tanked the engine parts because when I bought the car some FREAK LOSER had painted ALL off the engine MOVE PURPLE (No I don't have pictures of that Its to embarrassing)
I then chipped away and sanded whatever the acid wash hot tank wasn't able to remove then proceeded to paint.
The paint I used was bought from a engine pro shop and was high heat rated designed for engines. So whats the deal? Do I just remove everything again, scuff, then repaint again?
(Also if a paint Wiz comes by can I use similar paints to do my calipers? Im trying not to order "Caliper Kits" from the catalogs)
