Erratic Miss

I've recently noticed a distinct miss that is more apparent when I am slowly applying gas and am in OD. I don't notice it as apparent in 1 - 3, only in OD. At first I thought it was bad gas, but it occurs constantly. I have had coil problems in the past and have not rulled that out. Is there a way to troubleshoot each coil? Resistance readings? Tech procedure?

Hi there,
Normally, I would suggest that you take a drive with a Tech 2 attached, as you would be able to see if and what cylinder is misfiring.
Also, remember, that your TCC is usually applied in light throttle conditions, so that will magnify any misfires.

Check for a cracked spark plug boot.

I had the same problem - only during a 4th gear crowd at about 55 mph. Turned out to be a crack in #1 boot.
