Error codes

Without purchasing a reader or going to the dealer is there anyway to display error codes, like on the digital display? I got the error message "Electrical Charge fault" on start up and then it disappeared before I touched anything and it hasn't reappeared in a few (5) start ups and I was just wondering what it meant. The voltage was a little high (16) at start up and then it dropped to normal (14.5) in a matter of seconds.

With the car on (doesn't need to be started), clear the DIC display. Push the #4 button and hold; at the same time push the #1 button 4 times. This will start to cycle through all of the various systems, and display all of the codes that are stored. Don't worry, after it cycles through all of these, you can page through by system by pushing (I think) the #3 and #4 button.

the CAC Knowledgebase has the diagnostic codes, they're just a little hard to track down (at least for me)
