had a suprise yesterday as I was pulling out of a gas station, chime, chime, "remove key and waite 10 seconds" was displayed, I tried to keep going but the engine quit. Two days later it did it again. After it resets it runs fine. Car is a 98 with 57000 miles and has had the steering column done last year. Any thoughts?

Hi there,
There are many causes of a 'pull key wait 10 sec 'message.
If you are within a Vin breakpoint, you may need to have the column lock recall done.
Usually, this particular message is due to incorrect feedback from the actuator to the BCM.
I would ask that you have your VIN checked at the local dealership, to see if you are in the recall range.
