Is there a way to check if the evap canister is full or needs replacing? I have a 96 LT1 with a service engine light giving me a P1441 code. Replaced the purge solenoid and vacuum switch and running out of ideas. Any help? Really want this service engine light to go out without pulling the bulb. Thanks

You reset the ECM after the work to see if the code is gone?

Yes I cleared the codes and the light went out for a day but then came back giving the same code P1441.

rechecked code still p1441. gas cap appears to fit tight???

Well the evap can is behind the passenger side wheel remove the tire and inner panel.

remove evap can and if it weighs more then a pound replace it.

I would call GM and see what other notes that code incompasses.
