I just had to post this because I can't believe the day I had trying to change my oil.

Up on the lifts in my garage ready to do a simple oil change, or not.

Oil plug overtightened=stripped head and much &%$##%&&&,

Various wrenches, sockets, vice grips, no deal.

OK, I bring it to a local garage and explain my problem. No Problem, lets put it on the lift. Finally get the SOB off, watching BUBBA as he works under the car. I brought the 6 quarts of oil I just bought, cracked the fifth quart open and he starts to pour it in and he says, "what the h*** is this?". The oil is green and smells like 2 stroke oil. Great, I say! Actually it wasn't what I said. He just started to pour it in when he realized the mistake. He says, it shouldn't be a problem, just a smidgen got in there.

Now I know I had 6 quarts in the bag, but the mechanic says no there were only 5 quarts in the bag, so there should be 4 quarts in the car already. Ok, I'll go back to where I got the oil, show them the messed up bottle and put another quart and a half in. Buy another 2 quarts go back to the Vette and pull the dipstick out before adding the oil and see that the oil level is normal, so 5 quarts have to be in there. Now I'm thinking if the magical extra quart that's in there was another quart of the "Green Variety".

So, obviously I should change my oil again right? What kind of damage is likely to occur if it was indeed 2 stroke oil? Who the heck should I call to complain besides the oil manufacturer. By the way the auto parts store said they had to keep the messed up bottle to give me another free one.

I never have this kinda crap happen to me with any other car...except with my 65"-Vette! Are we jinked? Its still worth it.

I would change the oil. Why take chances over a few quarts of oil. Good luck.
