Project 1961....
Good evening vette setters...back again

Well.... looks like Bubba changed every piece of my project's drive line. 283, 2x4 intake, carbs, bell housing, 4 speed...etc. etc. Not one number is correct for the model (especially the Edelbrock stuff..Har)...Well, all but one exhaust manifold , the distributor, and valve covers.

So...I'm going to use the 4 speed.. buy some AFR heads and a cam upgrade and put in a 383 stroker engine I already have from a '80 Silverado swb pickup (which I bought in '82). Then I'm going to get serious on the rest of the car . Maintaing the original exterior appearance for sure.

Problem is I'm "exhausted" from looking for exhaust that will flow good heads and street roller cam....at least decent headers that will fit the '61 chassis. No problem on the mufflers etc...Seems kind dumb to buy a $1300 set of heads and choke 'em down..

Any one know where good headers for this chassis can be found...other than custom built high dollar stuff??

Till then...Stan
