I would like the thoughts of everyone about the F45 Selective Real Time Damping option. Is it worth the cost? ($1695.00) I don't have any racing plans. I've read in different articles that the standard ride gives the best all around performance for the average C5 owner. Thanks in advance for any help.

I think it is a much better and improved syatem than the F55. It is really suppose to make a difference in the handling, but that is what i have heard. I would have to try it for myself to be sure.

I've got the F-45 on mine. I really don't take it out of turing very often. However when i get to the mountains I do make that change. It's tighter and stifferand it :_rock BIG time. Around town it would rattel your teeth.

The F45 option was only built on 13% of 2002 Corvettes. Out of a little over 600 Corvettes sold by us last year, only 7 were built with F45. Unless you are Auto Crossing I think it is over kill. The F55 on the other hand from what I have read will be a much better system for the avg. driver. :)

Hi there,
Along those same lines, you can leave the F45 in touring, and it will automatically firm up, based on inputs from the speed sensors, lateral acceleration, and up and down motion of the car.
These are all used, to provide the best of all worlds.
Now, the F55 is without a doubt the best of all worlds, short of the FE4 suspension of the ZO6.
It can be FE1, or soft ride, for the most comfortable, then automatically firm up without really any noticable downside in the delay, like the older F45.
I like the new setup, and unless you are the most agressive driver, the F55 will be the best compromise, from back road carving, to boulevard cruising.

I'm agree with the rest, It really helps in the mountians
and the curves. It is a lot of money. I just like all the bells and whisiles. Worth the money I doubt it. but had to have it anyhow.
rarely use but it does work.
