- C3-coupe/MercedesBenz-540K replica! Racing-SB-V8!
:Twist -Wow, just finished looking at the latest C3/Parts for-sale by clicking on the convenient direct Ebay-link provided there, and was elated to discover the radical new "bolt-on/ScissorDoor Conversion-kit" being offered there by an obviously ingenious customizer in Savana, Georgia... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...ory=6168&item=4514033538&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW
If this link to the Ebay-Ad disappears in the future, i see you can reach the creative Troy LaGrone via 912/661-4275. In studying his pictures you will observe that he has developed a nifty readily retrofitable double-hinged arrangement whereby the closed-door initially pops-out a couple of inches in a conventional manner, then swings-up to 90*-vertically like this --thus it seems you can open it either conventionally or al'la exotic-car manner; -absolutely ingenious!! Would love to hear how you'all like it, especially if you purchase and install the kit... :blue: :dance ~Bob vH
Response: -Jim below, infers that it appears to have poor entry-clearance; and yes as shown i agree, but the builder does state the doors will actually scissor-up a full 90* to the vertical, --which would thus facilitate good ingress/egress (he is obviously a much better craftsman than he is a photographer)! ~B. vH
