I want to alert everyone to a fake 1965 Fuel Injected Corvette advertised on at least two Corvette internet sites. It is a restored black/blue leather optioned car. I was considering a purchase from the former owner who informed me it had a replacement block and had been converted to an FI car by them. I did a brief owner history search and confirmed that it was not an original FI car. The previous owner and I are both attempting to contact the current owner about the misleading ad and I have contacted two of the internet sites where it is listed.
I have been an NCRS member since the 70's and after 8 years away from Corvettes have been searching for another. This is at least the second advertised fuel injected matching number car that I have found to be a fake. Incidently, the previous owner wanted offers near $37,000 and the asking price in just a couple of weeks of the new owner is now $59,900. Due to the high prices in the current market, greed and dishonesty abound. Always try to track the ownership history to avoid being duped.
